Seed Information:
Homozygous Mu killer has been introgressed over several generations into the Minimal Mutator Line, a W22 derived inbred line devoid of any full-length functional MuDR elements and with only 1 non-autonomous Mutator element. The non-autonomous element is a Mu1 element in the homozygous reporter allele a1-mum2. The Minimal Mutator line is also homozygous for C1, R-r, wx/wx.
Currently, we are introgressing Mu killer into a homozygous bz-mum9 tester that lacks active MuDR elements.
The Muk allele is also being introgressed into different maize inbreds.
If you would like other maize lines used by our lab, feel free to email us a seed request.
More information regarding how to use Mu killer is available through the Using Mu killer link.
