Tibetan Traditional Knowledge and Conservation in the Eastern Himalaya

During 2004 and 2005 I collaborated with researchers from the Missouri Botanical Garden and The Nature Conservancy China Program  to document Tibetan traditional ecological  knowledge.  Among other things, we focused on land use patterns, conservation viability of Tibetan sacred sites and the variability and marketing of medicinal plants within some culturally Tibetan areas of East Asia.  More information about this ongoing project is available here.
